How do purchases and saves work?

Buy on itch.io, then enter your purchase link or key in the reader to unlock your chapters. Each purchase allows five browser installations. A different browser, a different site’s storage context, or clearing site data may require another activation.

Is An Object of Unusual Value free?

The entire first chapter, The Take, is free. Chapters Two and Three cost $1.99 each, or $3.49 together, on itch.io. Prices are in USD.

What kind of game is it?

It is a single-player illustrated interactive fiction game: you read the story and choose what your thief does next. It begins with an escape from Gorse’s camp and follows a crew of thieves in Amon Morthas. Choices shape your character, relationships, and routes through the story.

Is the story finished?

No. The Take, The Reckoning, and The Saint are the first three chapters of an unfinished serial. Chapter Four and later installments are not included in the current purchases.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. The reader works in desktop and mobile browsers. You can also open the game directly on itch.io.
